What's an empanada?

Empanadas MI CASA opened August 21th, 2012. We produce and sell "Argentinian" empanadas.
We are located at 6700 N 23rd St., Suite E, McAllen, TX.

What's an empanada?

Empanadas trace their origins to Galicia and Portugal. They first appeared in Medieval Iberia during the time of the Moorish Invasions. A cookbook published in Catalan language in 1520, the Libre del Coch by Ruperto de Nola, mentions empanadas filled with seafood among its recipes of Catalan, Italian, French, and Arabian food.
In turn, empanadas and the similar calzones are both believed to be derived from the Indian meat-filled pies, samosas. All these pastries have common origins in the Middle East and Central Asia. (source: Wikipedia)

The Argentinian empanada has many variations, and due to restricted space at the kiosk, we offer a limited menu. But don't be dissapointed. We will do our best to add more and more with time. Now you can choose between:

MEAT: Meat, onions, peppers, olives, egg, fine herbs
HAM & CHEESE: Ham and cheese. A little bit of pepper.
CHICKEN & MUSHROOMS: chicken, mushrooms, onions, peppers, fine herbs.
CHICKEN & CORN Chicken, corncob, onions, peppers, fine herbs.
SAUSAGE & CHEESE: Sausage, cheese, peppers. Hot.
TUNA: Tuna, onions, peppers, fine herbs.
CHEESE & CORN: Corn, cheese, chives, onions, fine herbs.
HOT MEAT Meat, Chipotle, onions, peppers, fine herbs.

We want you to visit us and try any flavor.
Remember, we are going to made it right after you order it.
Thank you!
